Caithness Family History Society was formed in September 1999

Dumfries & Galloway

Dumfries & Galloway Family History Society covers the three counties of South West Scotland - Dumfriesshire, The Stewartry of Kirkcudbright and Wigtownshire

East Ayrshire

Comprising the former districts of Kilmarnock & Loudon and Cumnock & Doon Valley

Fife

Fife Family History Society, which was formed in 1989 aims to join together people with an interest in the research of their Fife ancestors.

Glasgow & West of Scotland

The Society is based at the Highland Archive and Registration Centre at Bught Park, Inverness.

The North Ayrshire Family History Society (formerly Largs & North Ayrshire FHS) was formed in 1988. Its aim is to promote the study of family history in the Local Government Authority Area of North Ayrshire

North Perthshire Family History Group, formed in 2002, is located in Pitlochry, Perthshire.

Orkney

The Orkney Family History Society has an office in the Orkney Library & Archive, and is usefully located next to the Archives.

Renfrewshire

The Society has created a focus for the wide Shetland Diaspora

Troon & Ayrshire

The Troon @ Ayrshire Family History Society founded in 1989 has built up a wide range of knowledge on the people of Dundonald and the other parishes in South Ayrshire.

West Lothian

The Society was formed in November 2000 to assist those researching family history and genealogy throughout the county.
